Simon Cowell set to launch Cher Lloyd stateside on The X Factor USA?

Worldwide music mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly preparing to launch last year’s X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd stateside later this year by getting her to perform on The X Factor USA. According to The Sun, Cowell and the bosses at Cher’s Sony label reckon it’d be a great way to introduce her to America and promote the new show.

Auditions for The X Factor USA are currently underway across the country as the hit British telly format prepares for its first ever US season in the fall of this year. Despite rumours galore, the judging panel for the US version – minus Cowell himself and producer L.A. Reid – has yet to be confirmed.

Youngster Cher Lloyd however is said to be ‘inspiring’ Americans to audition for the show, after the 17-year-old’s original audition last year became a YouTube hit in the country. “The team are talking about bringing Cher into the show after hearing feedback from wannabes about her,” an insider blabbed to the tabloid.

Leona Lewis is the X Factor sweetheart in America but Cher is the flip side – talented but edgy. Everyone agrees she will show the US finalists and the American public that you don’t just have to be bubblegum pop to be a success.”

Cher has been in the states recording for her debut album with a number of hit US producers, including Will.i.am, RedOne and hip hop production duo The Runners.
