Alice will arrive in Albert Square next month trying to track down the father who she never got the chance to meet. Brought up by an overprotective mother and an older brother Joey who hates their father, Alice never got the chance to meet her missing in action father but what remains to be seen is whether he can make it up to Alice for his absence in her life.
Described as optimistic and nice, Alice is keen to meet her father when she arrives in the square but it remains to be seen whether Derek (Jamie Foreman) will live up to her expectations. However, having lived a sheltered life, can Alice cope with the pressure of living with such a dramatic and disfunctional family as the Branning’s?
Banks who is set to play the newcomer said of her casting: ”I’ve been a fan of EastEnders forever and am thrilled to be cast as a Branning. It’s such a privilege to be working alongside Jamie and I can’t wait to find out what’s in store for Alice.”
Meanwhile, Eastenders‘ newly appointed executive producer Lorraine Newman quipped: ”Jasmyn’s a great actress and we are delighted to have her join the cast as Alice Branning. Alice will help us glimpse a softer side to Derek and, being part of the Branning clan, there’s a huge amount of history for the pair to draw upon which gives us great potential for the future.”
Derek Branning will be in for a shock next month when his long lost daughter Alice Branning turns up. Jasmyn Banks has been announced as the actress set to play the role of the Walford bad boy’s daughter.
