Corrinne Wicks becomes latest of countless actors set to leave ''Emmerdale''

Corrinne Wicks has become the latest in a long list of Emmerdale cast members to exit the ITV soap. The actress who plays Ella Macey will make her departure after her current storyline finishes meaning all of the Macey family but Declan (Jason Merrells) will depart the show.

Recently, viewers have seen the *yawn* affair storyline between Ella and daughter Mia’s (Sapphire Elia’s) boyfriend Adam Barton (Adam Thomas) kick off and it looks like Ella’s actions will lead to her departure as she is set to leave the village after the whole sorry affair comes out.

However, contrary to reports that Corrinne has decided not to sign a new contract, The People has reported that the actress’ contract has not been renewed by producer Stuart Blackburn and she has instead been axed from the programme.

Speaking about her exit, Wicks said: ”I have had a wonderful time and am very much looking forward to filming the dramatic storyline.” Meanwhile, Stuart said: ”Unfortunately some of the strongest drama dictates the exit of characters.”

A large number of cast members have recently announced their departures from the show including Wicks’ on-screen daughter Sapphire, her screen father-in-law Dermot Macey (Frank Kelly), Hazel Rhodes, played by legendary actress Pauline Quirke and Eve Jenson (Suzanne Shaw)

I am dissapointed to heaqr that Corinne Wicks who plays Ella is leaving as she is such a great actress and made Emmerdale worth watching.

Well, if they’re scrapping the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen on the show (Corrinne) for yet another ridiculous, sensationalist story line stunt in another desperate and idotic attempt to boost ratings then I guess that’s the end of my Emmerdale viewing. It’s already gone way down hill recently, script writing fit for a primary school project, and worst of all, the complete inability of the show’s writing/production team to see what it already has – some great characters (Eric, for example, classic and loveable even at his sneakiest), great humour, some good topical story lines (Aaron’s story was very good, got a bit over the top with Jackson’s accident and whole youthanasia thing, typical), and a genuinely comforting and unique quality I’ve never found in any other soap. It is (or was) one of a kind, but they’re just turning it into Eastenders, very sad. Kelsey-Beth too, crazy, the prettiest and most endearing of the show’s young female cast members. Stuart Blackburn is clearly an idiot.
