Hollyoaks: Three characters to leave in the first quarter of 2013! to leave in the first quarfter of this month!

THollyoakshree characters are set to leave C4 soap in the first quarter of 2013, it has been revealed.

Viewers of E4′s First Look last night saw teenagers Bart McQueen (Jonny Clarke) and Joel Dexter (Andrew Still) exit the show after being caught trying to steal from Brendan Brady (Emmett J. Scanlan), leaving girlfriends Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davis) and Theresa Mc Queen (Jorgie Porter) devastated.

 

Both actors had filmed their final scenes at the end of last year but news of their departures was kept under wraps until the screening of the episode, which airs today at 6:30pm. Clarke first joined the soap in Summer 2010 when Myra took troublesome nephew Bart into her household.

 

Meanwhile, show favourite Brendan Brady (Emmett J. Scanlan) will also be leaving the show soon, after two and a half years playing the troubled bad boy from Dublin. Speaking to his fans on Twitter, Scanlan confirmed the news.

 

He said: ”To the greatest fans I could ever wish for – the time has come for me to sign out of Hollyoaks, to bow out as Double B. It has been the greatest honour to share the stage with you and I could think of no better company to spend my evenings with. Thank you for your love and loyalty and please, let’s dance again another time, another role.”

He added: ”o the channel and Lime Pictures, thank you. A success built on surrounding myself with people who are better than me in every department, thank you.”

Scanlan first joined the C4 soap in 2010, when Brendan moved in with his sister Cheryl (Bronagh Waugh) and quickly cemented himself as a show favourite with many hard-hitting plots such as the domestic abuse plot with boyfriend Ste, his feud with Warren Fox and his current storyline with father Seamus, who was revealed to have abused his son as a child in last year’s Hollyoaks Later.
Scanlan hopes to pursue new projects when he leaves however he has said that he would love to work with Lime Pictures again and is already being linked to a drama currently being developed by the production company.
Lime Pictures have promised to give the much loved character an explosive exit.
