It’s not looking good for The X Factor USA, having already seen one judge axed and replaced, it looks as though host Steve Jones could be going the same way. According to heat magazine, the Welsh telly presenter has failed to win over American audiences.
With his new bizarre accent, we’re not entirely surprised.
Steve was a surprise announcement as host earlier this year, and was originally due to front the show alongside Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. In May however, after just four audition shows, Nicole replaced Cheryl Cole on the judging panel, leaving Steve to host alone.
And it doesn’t sound as though he’s gone down well with viewers, as the show moves into its live stages tonight in the states.
Sunday’s latest judges’ houses episode was watched by less than 9 million viewers, even lower than the UK show despite the huge population difference of the two countries.
According to a report in Heat magazine, X Factor executives in the states have been quietly searching for a female presenter to help at Steve for the live shows, or even replace him completely.
Those rumoured to have been approached include fellow Brit, So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley and, as well as reality star Khloe Kardashian.
