X Factor stars One Direction are preparing to release new material as early as September.
It’ll be the boys first new track since the release of their debut album last year, which has topped the charts across the world.
Having sold millions of the copies of the record, and tracks including What Makes You Beautiful, there’s pressure for the follow up to be just as successful.
“When we came back from Australia, we had a couple of weeks off and then we went straight into the studio to get cracking on the next album,” the group’s Niall Horan revealed this month.
Speaking to MTV, the Irish singer explained that the current plan was to release a new single in September ahead of the new album later in the year.
“We wrote an absolutely cracking song that we’re all kind of very excited about,” he said.
Niall added: “We’ve got to make a decision for a single soon, because we have to get a single out towards September… We want to have the most control that we possibly can of everything that we do.”
The group are currently touring the US, but will return to the UK for their first headlining arena tour in 2013.
