X Factor 2012: Nicole Scherzinger 'agrees £750k deal' to become new judge

Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly agreed a £750,000 deal to join The X Factor 2012.

Following weeks of rumours and various guest judges at the audition shows, the US star will be announced as the replacement for Kelly Rowland within “days”, show sources claim.

And Nicole’s £750,000 fee for her first series could cause arguments, being well in excess of Tulisa’s £500,000 for her second run of the show.

According to The Sun, Nicole has been negotiating with bosses for the past ten days in order to bump up the pay.

“Nicole has played the long game on this,” an insider told the tabloid this morning. “She was offered a £500,000 deal a week ago but kept her counsel and managed to get this bumped up by another £250,000.

“She is thrilled with the offer and is expected to sign in the next day and be in place as the fourth permanent judge by Monday.”

The source added: “Nicole thought her X Factor days were over when she was axed from the US X Factor but she was a hit with British viewers as a guest judge two years ago and when she helped out this series.”

Nicole will join the panel on Monday as the latest guest judge for the auditions in Newcastle.
