Rita Ora is said to be the favourite to join The X Factor 2012 full time, even though talks are currently underway with Nicole Scherzinger.

Both Rita and Nicole both guest judged the show at auditions in London earlier this month and impressed producers.

“Rita surprised producers with her professional attitude. Her answers were thought out and the contestants were really keen to get her opinion,” a source told Star magazine this week.

Another source claimed to heat magazine: “The feeling behind the scenes is that Rita has been the breakout star judge.”

But bosses are understood to be in talks with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, with claims of a £500,000 deal on the table.

It’s unclear however if Nicole will be able to commit to the show, which runs from now until the live final in December.

The source added: “We are talking to Nicole abut taking on the job full time.

“It’s now down to money and whether she can commit to the show, which takes up most of the rest to the year.”

Clearly not wanting to take any risks, a range of guest judges are still being lined up for the future auditions.

American singer Anastacia will be the latest to join the panel when auditions move to Glasgow on Monday.
