Not that we ever had any doubts, but Dermot O’Leary has confirmed this morning that he’ll be back hosting The X Factor 2012.
Dermot has already been filming for the new series since March, appearing at the open auditions which took place earlier this year.
“I’m delighted to be returning to The X Factor as I just love the gig,” Dermot said in a press release this morning. “I hope continues to bring a sense of fun to Saturday and Sunday nights and gives the nation a show that they can laugh, cry and sometimes scream at.”
X Factor boss Simon Cowell added: “Dermot has done a brilliant job for the past five years – he is Mr X Factor.”
Auditions with the show’s judges for The X Factor start on May 23 in Liverpool.
A spokesperson for the show said previously that an announcement about the panel would be made in due course.
