The X Factor 2012 auditions kick off on in Liverpool today, with Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Tulisa and Geri Halliwell on the panel.
It’s the first filmed audition episode of the series, with thousands of fans expected to fill out the Liverpool Echo Arena to see the first batch of hopefuls face the judges.
Last year saw Liverpool singers Marcus Collins and Craig Colton both make the live shows, with Marcus making it all the way to second place and even releasing an album.
Meanwhile 2010 saw Soucser Rebecca Ferguson impress, with the singer now preparing to take on the US with her platinum selling debut album Heaven.
Beth Hart, X Factor executive producer, said this week: “We’re so excited that The X Factor is returning to Liverpool for auditions.
“Last year was the first time we’ve held auditions in the city and we were so knocked out by the amazing talent we found that we’ve had to come back for more.”
Guest judge Geri Halliwell will be joining the trio of permanent judges, with other names set to step in on future dates.
Try outs continue in London next week before going on to visit Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Cardiff.
