X Factor 2012 judges: Katy Perry, Dannii Minogue remain favourites to join panel

US popstar Katy Perry and Aussie singer Dannii Minogue remain the favourites to join The X Factor UK this year.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell is in need of a new female judge after Kelly Rowland quit the show after just one series last week.

Bookies William Hill have slashed the price of Katy Perry joining the X Factor judging panel today from an original 5/1 all the way into 1/1. As a result she is now the favourite ahead of Dannii Minogue who is 7/4.

“Dannii Minogue has been a long term favourite to return to the X Factor but certainly the money suggests that she will be pipped by Perry,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Dannii, who previously judged on the show between 2007 and 2011, seemed to rule out a return this week.

Speaking on Australian TV, where’s just currently judging Australia’s Got Talent, Dannii said she didn’t want to relocate back to the UK because of her young son Ethan.

Other names in the running include a surprise return for Simon Cowell, Alexandra Burke or even Voice UK coach Jessie J.

A spokesperson for the show said previously that an announcement on the panel would be made in “due course”.

Auditions for The X Factor 2012 begin filming in Liverpool next week.
