X Factor judge Tulisa is reportedly hoping to do one better than Cheryl Cole and break the States.
The N-Dubz star is set to score a number one hit this weekend with her first solo record, but wants more.
“She’s ridiculously excited about her new music. She thinks it’s the best stuff she’s ever done and believes it could go far in America,” a source close to Tulisa tells Star magazine this week.
Tulisa will release her first solo album later this year, and if first single Young is anything to go by, it’s set to be a hit.
The source goes on: “Tulisa knows Cheryl never managed to make it over there, but she says: ‘So what? We’re different people – I might do it’.
“She thinks she has a better chance than Cheryl of success there because her music is more urban and treat.”
Tulisa hit the top spot with Young on Sunday night, selling over 120,000 copies for it to become the second fastest selling track of the year.
