X Factor judge Tulisa has scored a number one single with her deubt solo effort Young.
The track, produced by ex-boyfriend Fazer, sold over 122,000 copies this week to hit the top spot, making it the second fastest selling track of the year so far.
The song sold more than 40,000 more copies than its closest rival Call Me Maybe, which is at number two in its fifth week of the chart.
“Congratulations to Tulisa on scoring a Number 1 with Young – especially given that she has also racked up the fastest selling debut single of the year so far,” the Official Charts Company’s Managing Director’s Martin Talbot said.
He added: “It’s a fantastic start to her solo career and a deserving recipient of the Official Number 1 Award!”
Tulisa will perform the track on the first Britain’s Got Talent 2012 live show tonight, which will no doubt help notch up more sales.
The album follows in the summer.
