Gary Barlow has said he’ll miss working with Kelly Rowland on The X Factor UK this year.
The US star confirmed this week that she would not be returning to the show in the summer.
“I love the UK and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget,” Kelly said in a statement. “I would like to thank Simon for the great opportunity and asking me to be a judge last season.”
A spokesperson for The X Factor added: “Kelly’s immense experience in the music industry shone through in both her judging and mentoring on The X Factor and we would like to thank her for being a part of the country’s number one show and wish her well for the future.”
So far only Gary Barlow has been confirmed as part of the X Factor panel, and he was quick to comment on Kelly’s departure.
He wrote on his Twitter page: “Sorry to hear @KELLYROWLAND won’t be joining us on #XFactor this year.Good luck with all your plans. Was great working with you.”
Rumours surrounding who could replace Kelly have been quick to surface, with Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry all linked to free seat on the panel.
A spokesperson for the show said that the remaining judges would be announced “in due course”.
