Kelly Rowland is reportedly feeling stitched up over her exit from The X Factor 2012.
The US singer announced earlier this week that she would not be returning to the show, with a spokesperson saying that the Destiny’s Child star “couldn’t commit” due to her schedule.
But it was reported this week that boss Simon Cowell didn’t want her back, with producers apparently branding her greedy for wanting £1.5 million for a second year.
“It was my decision, I just decided not to sign,” Kelly is quoted as saying today.
A supposed friend told the Daily Mirror: “She has emails going back months showing discussions so it is stupid of them to say they didn’t want her or she was being greedy.
“Simon Cowell has gone on record saying he wanted Kelly back. She loved doing the show so feels a bit let down.”
The source added: “She feels stitched up now and it just looks like they are panicking because they don’t have a judge.”
Filming for the new series begins in Liverpool on May 23.
So far, only Gary Barlow has been officially announced as part of the panel, although both Tulisa and Louis Walsh have let slip in interviews they are likely to return to.
Names tipped to replace Kelly include former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue and US star Katy Perry, who guest judged on the UK series in 2010.
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: “The judging panel will be announced in due course.”
