X Factor host Dermot O’Leary has said he hopes to see Kelly Rowland back on the show this year.
It was claimed earlier this week that the US star was “unlikely” to return, with the likes of Katy Perry and Alesha Dixon being named as possible replacements.
“I would hope Kelly is up in the air literally. I hope she’s in the air ready to do the show with us,” Dermot said this week.
The hunky telly host, who has already started work on , revealed he felt the show needed continuity.
“It’s a long old run, The X Factor. Sometimes with new judges, they can underestimate how tough it will be. And you can’t chop and change all the time,” he told DigitalSpy. “We need continuity. You need to build these relationships as you go. Fingers crossed.”
But regardless of Kelly, Dermot seemed over the moon to learn that Louis Walsh would be back.
He told the website: “The great thing about Louis is that he’s the most inconsistent human being in the world. You know where you are with him and he’s brilliant.
“He’s exactly what I need as a host. You know when all else fails you can have fun with him and bounce off him. He’s incredibly thick skinned.”
Auditions for The X Factor begin filming in May.
