Footballer Jermain Defoe has cheated on his X Factor winner girlfriend Alexandra Burke, it’s been claimed today.
The Sun alleges that the England striker met with Geordie Laura Brown behind Alex’s back earlier this year.
“I never planned on sleeping with him, it just happened,” Laura told the newspaper.
Alex and Jermain, an unlikely pairing, went public with their relationship last month after being set up together by a friend.
But in a blow to the X Factor star, Laura revealed: “I’m not going to lie — we did have sex.”
She is quoted by the newspaper as telling a pal: “Alexandra has been pictured wearing Jermain’s Spurs shirt.
“But she obviously has not a clue he has cheated on her. I feel so sorry for her.”
Laura and Jermain met on Facebook, with the footballer apparently inviting her back to his hotel room whilst away in Newcastle.
“The next day I felt dreadful about it. I’d asked him about Alexandra Burke and he told me it was ‘early days’,” the tabloid quotes Laura as saying.
She supposedly added: “It now appears that they really are an item. I was shocked when I saw pictures of them together in the paper this week. And Alexandra has apparently said she is in love. I am very upset.”
A spokesperson for the sports star declined to comment.
