US popstar Katy Perry is reportedly being lined up to replace Kelly Rowland on The X Factor 2012.
It follows claims this morning that Kelly is unlikely to return to The X Factor this year.
It was reported last week that the Destiny’s Child star, the only judge not to have currently agreed a deal, was holding out for £1.5 million from bosses.
But TV chiefs apparently don’t reckon she’s worth that much!
“Kelly was great in the auditions, but when she joined the live shows it just seemed that she didn’t really relax and enjoy herself,” a supposed source told the Daily Mail today.
They added: “And to be honest, she wasn’t that popular with viewers.
“Hopefully, Katy Perry will have some kind of role on the series.”
So far only Gary Barlow has been officially announced as returning to the series, although both Louis Walsh and Tulisa have said in interviews that they too will be back.
Host Dermot O’Leary said today he was not sure if Kelly was still on the panel.
“Gary is confirmed. I’m happy he is back. I want Gary to embrace the madness more, though. I would like to see everyone back,” he told The Sun. “Yeah Tulisa looks to be guaranteed and Louis will be back.”
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: “The panel has not been finalised yet.”
Auditions for The X Factor start filming on May 15, so let’s hope they get a move on!
