Thousands of hopefuls turned up to the first X Factor 2012 mobile auditions in Plymouth yesterday, despite the rain.
The X Factor’s mobile audition van set up camp outside the Plymouth Pavilions for the day, and turnout was surprisingly good despite the poor weather.
One of the budding performers was 17-year-old Leonie Mayston, who queued for three hours before performing.
She told This Is Plymouth “I have always had an ambition to be a singer ever since I was four or five years old. I do like the show. It is an opportunity for people who get themselves out there, whether they make it or not.”
X Factor bosses said this week that they hoped the mobile auditions would seek out previously undiscovered talent from across the country.
24-year-old Daniel Chivell said: “I am in the Navy and between back-to-back deployments. I do not expect anything much to come of it. I am just trying to do as many open microphone spots as possible.”
The X Factor mobile auditions continue all this month across the UK.
