X Factor stars One Direction are set to land themselves a Christmas TV special, with deals as much as £800,000 being offered to the boys.
The group, currently touring Australia and New Zealand, are apparently involved in a bidding war between ITV and Sky.
The festive telly highlight will be the latest in a long line of shows, with Will Young, Cheryl Cole, JLS and Justin Bieber all having had similar programmes.
“A One Direction special is bound to bring in massive ratings – they’re the hottest band in the world,” a source told the Daily Star. “It will be a concert mixed with special guests and backstage footage from gigs.”
The show will be recorded over the summer and will go out in December, no doubt just before The X Factor 2012 final.
