Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has said she’s not been trying to lose weight, despite reports.
Recent tabloid speculation had suggested that the singer had hired a personal trainer to slim shelf down to look more like her size six bandmates.
But while Jesy revealed this week she had lost a few pounds, it was down to nothing more than no longer being able to eat for free in the ITV canteen at the X Factor studio!
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “People are always commenting on how I look and it’s because I’m a girl. You never see men’s bodies being criticised in magazines.
“Once I came off the TV show everyone thought I was on a strict diet but I’d just stopped going to the ITV canteen every day, with fry-ups every morning and chips for lunch, so I lost quite a bit of weight.”
Jesy, who is currently in the studio with her Little Mix bandmates putting the finishing touches to their debut album continued: “I’m not going to suddenly become skinny — we’re all different shapes and sizes in the band and people relate to us because we look normal.
“It’s one of the reasons we won the show.
“If I started to look like I’d lost two stone it would send out the wrong message.”
