Got to Dance host Davina McCall has hit out at shows like The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent for being too cruel to contestants.
Speaking about the new series of her Sky 1 dancing show, Davina said that it was more positive than Simon Cowell’s rival reality shows.
“I think Got To Dance is unique in the fact that it’s an extremely positive programme,” Davina explained. “Even the people who aren’t put through get some extremely constructive criticism from three of the best dancers in the world.
“Nobody goes away empty-handed. They all receive that golden nugget to help them improve.”
Talking to the Daily Star today, Davina continued: “What’s lovely is that we’ve had people who have auditioned twice before and this time they’ve been put through to the shortlist.
“It’s the type of programme where you feel like you can come back and have another go and put the judges’ advice into practice.
“Got To Dance has such a positive energy.”
