Who will win The X Factor 2012? Just Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur remain, and it’s set to be a close fight to the finish.
Speaking about waiting for the result, James said: “I was extremely nervous, I thought when they said Jahmene that Chris would be next, hence why I jumped like a little girl. It’s started happening but I don’t know why.
“I had palpitations, I was ready to throw up, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack.”
He added: “I feel like a winner already, tomorrow is going to be nerve wracking.”
Later on the Xtra Factor, a competitive James admitted: “I would love to win, but you know being in the final with Jahmene that’s so… I really want to swear, it’s sick.”
Speaking after the results were announced, Jahmene reacted: “Woohoo!”
Quizzed on his highlights of the night, he replied: “Sharing the stage with Nicole Scherzinger, it was a blessing to be on stage with Nicole.”
Jahmene told Olly Murs and Caroline Flack on the Xtra Factor: “I’m feeling blessed. It’s a blessing to be here and to be back tomorrow.”
And asked about his highlights of the series so far, Jahmene said: “I’ve made some of the great friends in this process and I’m going to miss them.
“I see myself as Jahmene, not a popstar.”
The bookies are finding it hard to split the pair and it really will come down to who can impress on this evening’s show.
Bookies William Hill were cheering the departure of Christopher after the Liverpudlian was backed in from 100/1 all the way in to 7/2 to win the show.
“Christopher was not well liked by the hardcore X-Factor fans, but there were obviously people voting for him and these people must have been backing him as well because he could have cost the industry a fortune,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
Despite Christopher’s departure, it was not all cheer as James Arthur is now the 4/9 favourite to win and should he win, he will still cost Britain’s biggest bookmaker a sizeable sum.
