Christopher Maloney could win The X Factor 2012 now, after a shock result last night.
In one of the biggest shocks in the history of the X Factor James Arthur and Ella Henderson were placed in the bottom two. One time favourite Ella lost out in the bottom two to James who is now 2/1 second favourite to win the show. Jahmene is the 4/5 favourite with Christopher Maloney 7/1, Union J 10/1 and Rylan 20/1.
“It is a huge shock to lose someone who was odds on a few weeks ago. It is anyone’s game now,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.
Following Ella’s controversial exit from the show on Sunday night the bookies are now quoting Cowell at even money to make a sensational comeback to the judging panel next year in order to restore some credibility to the show.
There’s a 5/1 chance that the 2013 series of X Factor is cancelled, however should Rylan or Christopher achieve the unthinkable and win the show those odds are certain to be slashed.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “There’s only one man who can rescue an X Factor boycott and that’s Simon Cowell. Punters are beginning to revolt against the show and unfortunately Ella’s paid the price.
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday on ITV1 and ITV1HD, with the final five acts sing two tracks each with Abba and Motown themes.
Sunday’s results show will see one more act get the axe, and there will be performances from Rhianna, Tulisa and Bruno Mars.
