X Factor 2012: Louis Walsh takes over mentoring Jahmene Douglas!

Jahmene Douglas (X Factor 2012)

Louis Walsh has been spotted mentoring Jahmene Douglas on the X Factor, with Nicole Scherzinger out of the country!

Louis said Jahmene was his “favourite contestant” at the weekend, following the youngster’s performance of an Amy Winehouse and Marvin Gaye mashup.

Jahmene said today: “I was lost for words. I can’t take it all in.

” I’m looking forward to my performance this weekend. I loved having all those candles on stage in week one so I’m well up for more fire this Saturday!”

But despite looking to Louis for some help and advice, Jahmene insisted that Nicole was a great mentor.

Speaking to the official ITV1 X Factor website, the 21-year-old said of the former Pussycat Doll star: “She’s very down-to-earth and keeps it real. She’s there for us and is a great mentor. She’s stunning too!”

Despite wowing the judges and viewers last Saturday however, perfectionist Jahmene revealed he could have done better.

He said: “I thought my performance was alright. I’m a perfectionist which means that I can be self-critical. I’m more used to my surroundings now so I’m feeling more comfortable on stage.”

The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV1.

This weekend will see the remaining eleven finalists singing tracks with a Club Classics theme.

What a load of absolute bull! There’s no point in supporting ideas about the possible fixing of XF if you spread silly rumours based on a meeting in a public area of the hotel in which Jahmene is living and where Louis’s acts are lodged. If I had the opportunity of a few minutes of quiet chat with one of the best ever singers on any talent show and an absolutely charming person I would not miss out. Would a photograph of Jahmene and I chatting lead you to believe I had become his mentor? Of course not! Sure Louis has many years of insight from which Jahmene will profit, but give the oldest judge a break: he’s clearly star-struck by a star who is young enough to be his grandson. Oh cripes! What will the rumour mongers make of that mathematical possibility?
