Modest! Management have launched a legal claim against Rebecca Ferguson, after she quit the company earlier this year.
The Liverpudlian singer finished runner up on The X Factor back in 2010, releasing a platinum selling debut album a year later.
But in June this year she split from Modest in a very public incident that spilled onto Twitter.
She claimed her management team “watched me collapse [then] gave me a can of Coke and said now go do your interview.”
She added: “I need to see my children you need to give me time off vile!!!!
“Be nice to have a nice new responsible caring management team!! Who care for me and my childrens well being #seeyouincourt!!!”
Now Modest! are suing Rebecca for breaching her contract, demanding 20% of all of her future earnings.
The legal claim reveals some interesting stats about the contracts the stars of The X Factor enter into when on the show.
In papers filed in London, Modest say that Rebecca signed a 5 year management deal with them in October 2010, just as the X Factor live shows were beginning.
Modest’s management team claim that Rebecca backed out the contract in June 2012 via email.
I am really unhappy with how I have been treated by you over the last couple of months and how miserable I have become,” the email is quoted as saying.
“The deterioration of my health has not been relevent [sic] to you until this week when it reached another low point.
“I have lost all faith and trust in you as managers so I have no option but to terminate our working relationship with immediate effect.”
