Former X Factor finalist Amelia Lily has advised this year’s wannabes to stick up for themselves

Amelia, who was booted out in the first live show, revealed she hated the way she was dressed on the live shows.

Asked for her words of advice for this year’s crop of X Factor finalists, Amelia said: “To be yourself and try not to the talked into things that aren’t you.

“That first week I hated the way they dressed me but I felt I couldn’t say anything. ”

But Amelia, who releases her debut single You Bring Me Joy this week, was quick to praise the show for what’s done for her.

The 17-year-old said: “Literally I think like the luckiest person in the world – it’s like a massive whirlwind.”

However, despite reports, the teenager revealed she had never spoken to Simon Cowell at all!

Amelia Lily’s You Bring Me Joy is out to download now.

Really Amelia? That’s the worst advice for the X Factor. Matt Cardle said he only got through because he was willing to wear the bright yellow trousers. Olly, Cher, One Direction etc are Cowell’s luvvies because they are willing to do whatever they are asked to do and lie to the public. Olly was even given the Xtrafactor job after his album sales failed so badly. His boosted his media presence and he’s now being pushed to tour with 1D to give him exposure in the US. It’s the acts that stand up for themselves that the show pushes under the bus.
