BBC bosses are reportedly set to sign ‘older’ coaches for The Voice UK in 2013.
According to the Daily Mail, bosses are after the likes of Annie Lennox and LuLu to join the panel next year.
It comes after criticism of last year’s rather young and inexperienced panel, with Jessie J having only released one album.
71-year-old Sir Tom Jones eventually won the series with underdog Leanne Mitchell last Saturday.
“Various people are going to be sounded out for the judging panel because the line-up of coaches is the only area where [BBC One Controller] Danny [Cohen] can really shake up the show,” an insider tells the newspaper.
The report claims that both Annie Lennox and Lulu are on the wish list of stars to talk to about the show.
“Any changes to the format are out of the hands of the BBC,” the source explained. “Lulu now seems likely after the success of Tom Jones. The thinking is that she would be interested in taking part.
“Annie Lennox would be a real coup, but much harder to secure. Her professional relationship with Universal could help.”
