The Voice UK coaches face the axe in a big shake up of the series, which could see Cee Lo Green replace Will.i.am.
BBC bosses have admitted that the first series of the show has struggled with some “teething problems”.
BBC One controller Danny Cohen said he’ll be meeting with top execs, including Voice creator John De Mol, to improve next year’s run.
And the big changes could see all the coaches get replaced.
“We’ve already paid £22million for two years so there is no question of it being axed,” a source said today.
The supposed insider added to the Daily Mirror: “But it seems unlikely any of the current coaches will be back. The viewers haven’t connected strongly enough with them.
“The show got off to a fantastic start, but the fans got bored of the same ultra-positive and unbelievably nice comments every week, and viewing figures tumbled.”
Meanwhile The Sun reports that US star Cee Lo Green could be brought in to replace Will.i.am.
The ‘Forget You’ singer is a coach on a American version of the show and has won over viewers there.
The newspaper also says that Danny O’Donoghue may be the only coach saved from the mass axing.
“Only Danny seems to be 100 per cent on board for series two,” a source told the tabloid. “There’s talk that Cee Lo Green could be brought in to liven things up.”
