The Voice UK final: Coaches, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran to pre-record performances on Friday

Coaches (The Voice UK)

Half of The Voice UK’s ‘live’ final will be pre-recorded on Friday, it has been revealed.

Guest stars Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran won’t even be singing in the studio on Saturday, as they sing and pre-record their performance on Friday afternoon.

And after the shambles of Jessie J’s live group performances, bosses have decided not to risk letting the coaches sing live either.

Jessie, Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue will pre-record a special group performance too.

The four stars will be singing a medley of one another’s tracks, but will record the mashup on Friday afternoon to air during Saturday’s ‘live’ final.

The group of coaches had originally performed live at the start of the series, but viewers panned the poor take of U2′s Beautiful Day.

The pre-record will allow for the performance to be done again if it goes wrong.

But while some of the performances won’t be live, at least this week the results will be.

The Voice UK final will air between 7:20PM and 9:20PM, with the results announced the same night.
