The coaches clashed on The Voice UK semi-finals this evening as Max Milner took to the stage.
Max performed Every Breath You Take by The Police in this evening’s semi-final show, but the panel clashed over the song choice and arrangement.
Will.i.am said: “This is hard for me, because I don’t want to say anything that influences anything. The song selection was a great song selection, but the arrangement was exactly like the original.
“Or should I lie? ‘That was dope!’”
Max hit back: “I just feel that this is a singing song, I love the arrangement and I feel that it doesn’t need to be changed.”
Jessie J commented: “It’s not real if we come on this show and say everything is amazing because the real world isn’t as nice, it’s real. As a coach I wanted to be honest, and I think it was safe. I think it was a great performance, but I think it was a little safe for the semi-final.”
Sir Tom Jones said: “I agree with some of the things Will and Jessie said, to me it was too close to what The Police did with it. I would’ve liked to see you play guitar and get away from that arrangement. I think you should’ve made it more your own.”
Finally, Max’s coach Danny said: “I’m a bit stunned, I though you sung amazing. I would never want to change Sting’s arrangement. I think you’re a young Sting.”
He added: “I thought it was amazing, I think they were all crazy!”
