Vince Kidd impressed on The Voice UK 2012 semi-finals this evening by singing a classic hit by one of his idols.

Vince took on a classic in the form of Back To Black by Amy Winehouse in a bid to make next week’s final.

“This means the world to me, so I’m worried about picking the right song, but it’s a dream to sing my idol’s song,” Vince said.

Will.i.am added: “I thought it was dope. You’re one of my favourite singers on the show, you made me like that song. Every note hit you hit, it was fresh.”

Danny O’Donoghue commented: “Every week I see you flipping songs, it was really nice to see you just stand there and sing tonight. I don’t think you’ll be going back to anywhere but the final.”

Sir Tom Jones said: “You’ve got to be brave to take on a song like that. Song choice is very important. To me, it’s the most important. It was the right choice to make, you did a great job.”

Finally, Vince’s coach Jessie said: “I’m always honest, I will say I didn’t choose that song. We spent days trying to decide but Vince is an artist, and thumbs up, I’m proud.”
