The Voice UK coach Will.i.am has hit back at X Factor judge Louis Walsh, after the Irish music manager branded him and the the BBC show “ridiculous”.
Despite Louis’ rant, Will explained how he took the comments as a positive.
“Ridiculous where I come from means dope,” Will said. “Ridiculous is a good thing. If you’d did something amazing, I’d say ‘That was ridiculous!’
“If you did something that was super-duper amazing, I’d say ‘That was ri-sick-ulous!’”
Will added: “So thank you, Louis Walsh, I think you’re ridiculous too.”
The Black Eyed Peas star also took a swipe at The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent for making fun out of the contestants.
Revealing why he signed up for the BBC series after slagging off similar shows previously, Will said: “Talent shows in the past have been to make fun of people that want to sing, maybe they’re not the best but the passion is there.
“When I watched The Voice in America, I was like ‘Oh wow, this format is really cool’
“That seat when the coaches back is turned represents people at home sitting in the living room.”
The Voice UK airs tonight on BBC One from 6:30PM.
