The Voice UK host Reggie Yates has insisted that the show’s falling ratings aren’t a problem.
The Radio 1 DJ and has been fronting the show since it launched in March, where ratings peaked with over 10 million viewers.
But the most recent live show was watched by just 5.7 million, a drop of close to 50%.
Speaking to heat magazine this week, Reggie revealed that there had been no plans to boost ratings, with bosses deciding to keep on making the show as normal.
“Honestly, we’ve not spoken about it and I don’t think we will,” Reggie explained. “I didn’t get into this to be on the most watches show on TV, and even if we did get five million, like every over show has got on their first series, it would still be the biggest show I have ever done.
“It’s doing much better than it should be for its first series.”
And Reggie claimed that even if more viewers tuned out, the show would definitely be back for a second series next year.
“Even if we went down to something stupid like a million viewers, I think we’d still be on again,” he added.
The Voice 2012 continues this Saturday night, with performances from Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue on Sunday.
