The Voice UK: Danny O'Donoghue not concerned by ratings

The Voice UK

The Voice UK coach Danny O’Donoghue has insisted he’s not concerned about ratings or criticism of the show.

The Script frontman told Absolute Radio that he “didn’t really care” about people hating on the show.

He said: “I think the same way as when you read negative comments about The Script. Do you care, really? No.

“We make a show for ourselves and we’ve made our music and our albums for ourselves too.”

But Danny did admit that the first series of The Voice did suffer from some “downs” up against Britain’s Got Talent.

The hunky singer explained: “It’s ups and downs. It’s our first TV show. There’s always going to be ups and downs, especially when you’re going up against juggernaut TV shows.

“But I think as a brand new show, the biggest entertainment show the BBC’s ever had, ever, full stop, I don’t think we’re doing too bad.”

The Voice UK continues this Saturday night at 6:30PM on BBC one.
