Sir Tom Jones would want Will.i.am as a coach if he were on The Voice UK!

Sir Tom Jones has said that he would chose Will.i.am as a coach if he were a contestant on The Voice UK.

The Welsh singing legend praised his fellow coach, saying: “He likes a wide variety of stuff and he has made some great records with the Black Eyed Peas.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail about the show, Sir Tom revealed however that it was Irish star Danny O’Donoghue who had bonded with the most.

“Danny and myself would be sitting there during filming and we might have a cup of red wine by our side,” Sir Tom explained. “But we’d have water until we’d made all our big decisions so it didn’t cloud our judgement.”

And the 71-year-old confessed that he was left confused by Jessie and Will’s constant use of Twitter.

Jessie J is always giving it that, She’s twitting,” he said. “I said: ‘Who are you talking to?’ She said: ‘I am putting out information and I am finding out what people are thinking.’ And Will.i.am is the same.”

And Sir Tom added: “Doing The Voice was a gamble. When I was offered it, I thought, do I expose myself that much because then people will start having opinions about me?

“In the past, the only decisions I have had to make were to do with my career. Now I have got to make decisions on the future of other people, and that’s been difficult.

“I know what it feels like because I’ve been there. They’re doing the best they can and then someone says: ‘I am sorry, but…’”

The Voice UK live shows continue tomorrow at 6.10pm on BBC1.
