The Voice UK’s Hannah Berney has revealed that she asked for a band rather than dancers on stage with her on Saturday night.
Jessie J criticised Hannah’s performance, saying that her troupe of fit dancers were “distracting” from her vocals.
Speaking to us this afternoon, Hannah said: “Jessie’s entitled to her opinion, but at the end of the day, the comments shouldn’t have been directed at me. They probably would’ve been better off directed at the production and executive producers who make those kind of decisions.”
And Hannah revealed: “I made the decision about my song. I did ask for a band originally when I was thinking about how I wanted the song to be, but I couldn’t have that.”
But the 21-year-old Welsh performer also defended Jessie after suggestions that her comments could’ve caused her exit.
The Exeter Uni student told us: “People say that maybe people didn’t enjoy my song, maybe people agreed with Jessie, maybe people tuned in later, all of the bottom four were the first four to perform.
“There’s s many things that it could’ve been. I was prepared definitely for anything to happen.”
