The Voice UK bosses tell coaches to be meaner with their comments!

BBC bosses have reportedly told The Voice UK coaches to be more MEAN to the artists.

According to The Sun, the show’s producers have asked that coaches Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue, Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones stop sugar coating their comments.

It comes after the show lost another million viewers on Saturday night, falling to 8.2 million viewers.

“The Voice originally sold itself as being the ‘nice’ talent show and viewers loved that when it was coupled with the drama of the spinning chairs during the blind auditions,” a source told the newspaper. “But once the show moved into its live stage, a lot of viewers have tired of it and criticised the coaches for being too nice to singers who just aren’t that great.

“Bosses have now told them to toughen up, be meaner and to really speak their minds — even if it means upsetting people.

“The coaches made progress on Saturday but there is still a long way to go.”

This weekend the competition will definitely get harsher, with FOUR singers going.

Team Will and Team Tom’s artists will perform again live on Saturday, with two from each team leaving in Sunday’s results show.

airs at the earlier time of 6:10PM on Saturday on BBC One.
