Will.i.am’s jet set life style has been causing tension backstage on The Voice UK, it has been revealed.
BBC bosses have ruled that coaches can only see their acts together, meaning that Danny O’Donoghue, Jessie J and Sir Tom Jones can only mentor their artists when Will is in the UK.
It’s meant to make the show fair, but it’s left some acts of the other coaches understandably frustrated.
“If Will is out of the country, we aren’t seeing Danny. All the mentors have to do equal amounts,” Bo told the Daily Mirror today.
Max Milner added: “We all get the same amount of time. The coaches fit it round their schedules.”
A BBC insider explained to the tabloid: “All artists get equal time with their coaches — and coaches are down at the studio for four long days each week so they do spend huge amounts of time with their artists.
“It is untrue that Will is spending less time with his artists — and neither does this impact on the other teams.
“Artists all spend huge amounts of quality time with their coaches — beyond expectation.”
This evening Team Danny and Team Jessie’s acts will perform live for the first time. The show airs from 7:10PM on BBC One.
