The Welsh superstar told The Mirror that he and his fellow panellists – Will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue – all want to stay on the show and have already entered discussions with BBC bosses.
Speaking at yesterday’s South Bank Sky Arts Awards, the 71-year-old said: “I’m really loving it, it’s been great fun. The BBC has already asked me to come back for the next series and I’ve said ‘yes’ – we have already begun discussions.
“They are ongoing but I would very much like to do it again. They’re happy with the judges as we are, and it looks like all of us will be back, even Will.”
The newspaper suggests that they’ll each get a 5% pay rise after the talent contest became a smash hit, attracting over ten million viewers.
This means Will’s paycheck is set to increase from a reported £500,000 to £525,000, while Tom and Jessie’s wages will be boosted from £250,000 to £262,500. Danny will also pocket a ‘six figure’ sum.
However, the Beeb may face a fight to keep Jessie, as it is claimed that Simon Cowell wants to poach her for The X Factor.
continues this Saturday at 7.00pm on BBC One.
