17-uyear-old Sophie Griffin has revealed how she cried for “two hours straight” after getting the axe on The Voice UK last night.
The Northern Irish singer was cut from the show last night after being in the bottom two of Team Will alongside Joelle Moses.
“Will was brilliant. After the cameras stopped rolling, he came over to me, gave me a hug and said, ‘It’s not over’,” Sophie revealed today. “He is really close to all of us as artists and really cares, and I don’t think he wanted anyone to go.”
Speaking to The Sun, Sophie added: “But I was heartbroken, I cried for about two hours straight.”
She explained: “It was really hard to take because I try not to prepare for the worst, I try to think of the best thing happening — and obviously the worst thing happened. My mum says it’s so hard to see me like this but she’s so proud. I just didn’t want it to ever end.”
But despite the early elimination, Sophie insisted: “I’ve got amazing contacts with Will and Dante. I really hope they will help me get started.”
continues this Saturday night on BBC One.
