The mum of The Voice UK hopeful Aleks Josh has said the best of her son is yet to come!
This weekend will see Aleks take to the live stage for the first time, as Teams Danny and Jessie perform for millions.
There was some criticism when coach Danny O’Donoghue picked Aleks ahead of Emmy J Mac back in the battle rounds, but his mum insists the problem has been his song choices.
“He’s very good, and we’ve not really at the moment seen him at his best,” mum Justine told the local newspaper. “He’s not singing the kind of songs he normally would.”
She said of her 17-year-old son: “He comes across nervous, but he’s been quite a lot out of his comfort zone. I hope now he can really show what he does.
“I always thought there was something special about him, and I’m not just saying that because he’s my son.”
Justine added: “I’m nervous because I’ve seen how nervous he’s got so far and he’s not that nervous normally – not to that extent.”
And she teased: “Luckily, he’s got a song which is more his voice. It’s a lovely song and will really suit his tone so I’m hoping he’ll be more relaxed.”
airs this Saturday night on BBC One from 7:10PM.
