The BBC is capitalising on the popularity of smash hit talent contest The Voice UK by airing its results shows on Sunday nights, it has been revealed.
Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates will present live shows on Saturdays, and a half-hour follow-up on Sundays revealing which acts have been voted off.
However, the results shows – featuring special guest peformances – will be pre-recorded the night before, meaning audience members will be able to leak elimination details before they’re broadcast on telly.
They follow the not-so-successful template of Strictly Come Dancing, spoilers from which are usually posted on web forums and social networking sites.
The Voice has so far experienced unprecedented ratings success which has seen it beat rival show Britain’s Got Talent on two occasions and attract up to six million more viewers during their 20-minute overlaps.
It has gained more than 2million viewers since its debut, with the last Blind Auditions being watched by 10.7million viewers.
The live stages begin next Saturday at 7.00pm on BBC One, with the first results next Sunday at 7.25pm.
