Youngster Kate Read joined Team Will.i.am on The Voice Uk this evening, having wowed the panel with a cover of True Colours.

The red haired singer impressed both Will and Danny O’Donoghue enough for them both to press their buzzers and turn around.

Will told her: “You sing beautiful, I like the tone of your voice, the rasp, it’s a unique voice and made me want to turn around.”

Sir Tom added: “What I liked about your voice is there’s vulnerability there, it’s very fresh, I like that, I’d love to have to have you on my team, and I’m the premier division.”

Choosing Will.i.am, Kate told the other coaches: “I’m really grateful for your feedback and I’ll take it with me wherever I go.”

Speaking after the audition, Will remarked: “I think I found a unique voice in Kate.”
