The Voice UK panel are set to remain unchanged for series two, BBC One boss Danny Cohen has said.
He revealed this week that the Beeb hope that Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue all return next year.
“We thought they made a very big impact for a first series and we want them all to come back,” he said yesterday. “We haven’t signed any contracts yet, so I can’t say anything official. But we said at the end of the first series that we wanted all of our coaches to come back.”
We told yesterday how bosses planned “dramatic changes” for series two, including less live shows and more audition rounds.
“Those live shows, the audience became over familiar with the grammar,” explained the channel controller. “It still works on Strictly and The X Factor, but audiences became over familiar with it.
“It’s not rocket science to say that the Blind Auditions were the best bit of the series.”
It was confirmed yesterday that Jessie J would be back on The Voice UK, while Sir Tom Jones admitted he was still in talks.
Open auditions for the new series take place this autumn, while the show begins filming in the new year.
