The Bachelor’s Spencer Matthews has admitted that he’s been disappointed with ratings for the show.
The Channel 5 series, which airs on Friday nights, has been getting viewing figures as low as 300,000.
Last week’s episode was watched by a more impressive 500,000 thousand, but asked if those ratings were good enough, Spencer said: “No, not really.”
He explained: “It’s very difficult, I’ve had a bit of a tough time with it.
“Ratings are down and it’s a shame.”
He added: “I don’t want to make excuses because I think the show is a good show. I enjoy it and I hope some people out there do as well.”
But Spencer did suggest that the Olympics could be having an impact on the amount of viewers.
He said: “I think with the Euros and the Olympics going on at the same time, especially in Britain it’s quite a difficult time to compete on TV.”
