The Apprentice boss Lord Sugar has ruled out any more celebrity versions of the show.
The Celebrity Apprentice has previously aired for Comic Relief, and featured celebrities including Cheryl Cole and Piers Morgan.
But Lord Sugar said last month: “Celebrity Apprentice was a good idea at a time, and the Americans nicked it and – only the Americans could say this – they no longer do a ‘civilian’ version.
“I personally declined doing any more of the celebrity ones, I’m not sure we were even asked to do any more.”
Speaking at the BAFTAs, where the Young Apprentice picked up the gong for Reality & Constructed Factual show, Lord Sugar blamed the celeb egos on not doing any more series.
He said: “They are a bit difficult to deal with some of these people. And the format relies on having the celebs at your disposal for a week and the celebs are very busy, and it’s difficult to sort it out.”
A new series of the Young Apprentice airs this autumn on BBC One.
