Superstar hopeful David Hunter wows the judges during his audition this weekend.
The 24-year-old from Warrington is the last wannabe to go before the panel on this evening’s opening show.
David used to be in a band called Reemer that had supported McFly and Scouting for Girls but sadly after some time they all decided to go their own way, leaving David to fend for himself.
“I’m so nervous but I’m ready for it” says David as he goes on stage.
He sings ‘Awaiting You’ by Myths and Hymns.
The judges are speechless, so has David Hunter done enough to make callbacks?
Meanwhile, other singers struggle to take on the musical’s tough songs.
One of the biggest challenges in Jesus Christ Superstar is Gethsemane and its famous high note. Many contenders during audition stage failed spectacularly to hit this note. One person who did hit it time and time again is 24 year old Ross Wild from Aberdeen.
During Callbacks he performs ‘The Show Must Go On’ by Queen, afterwards Melanie comments “The girls are going to love him”.
Melanie and Jason are left speechless, “I’m lost for words” says Jason. Has David also impressed Andrew?
