Andrew Lloyd Webber reportedly wants to sign Nicole Scherzinger as a judge on his new ITV1 reality talent series Superstar.
The show, which was announced yesterday, will see a search for a male singer to play the lead role in his hit music Jesus Christ Superstar.
The stage show will be going on an area tour, starting with London’s cast O2 arena.
The Sun claim that Sir Andrew is eyeing up X Factor judge Nicole to help him whittle down the acts.
“Andrew is obsessed with Nicole — he thinks the world of her,” a source told the newspaper. “As soon as he got the nod his new show was going to happen, Nicole was his No1 target.
“He’s got a great working relationship with her and Nicole hugely respects his work.” Lloyd Webber ended his association with the BBC after four series of musical talent shows.
Steve Balsamo, who starred in the show’s West End productions in the Nineties, has already been confirmed as one of the other judges.
