Strictly Come Dancing 2012 hosts Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly have been given a pay freeze.
While the show’s judges have been given significant increases in their fees for the current series, both Bruce and Tess have agreed to a new static pay deal.
But despite the freeze, Tess will still be earning £125,000 a year while Bruce will get £500,000 a series.
The Daily Star claim that the freeze is needed after the BBC spent £22 million on The Voice UK, with its coaches getting paid as much as £600,000.
A spokesperson for Strictly would only say: “We don’t officially comment on talent salaries or contract negotiations.”
The series returns to BBC One in the autumn.
